  Miss Mary Van Welde To Be Married Friday Mrs. Anna B. Van Welde, 1503 Carroll, announces the approaching marriage of her daughter, Mary A. of Yipsilanti, to Lavern G. Engel of Jackson, a son of William Engel of Adrian. The marriage will take place at 8 p.m. Friday at the Van Welde home. Rev. Irvin M. Otto of Grace Luthern church will perform the ceremony.
  Mary Van Welde Married Friday Bride of Lavern Engel of Jackson The marriage of Miss Mary A. Van Welde of Yipsilanti and Lavern G. Engel of Jackson was solemnized Friday evening at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Anna B. Van Welde, 1503 Carroll, in the presence of 40 guests. Rev, Irvin M. Otto officiated. Floral decorations included arrangements of shasta dasies, baby's breath and pink rosebuds. The bridegroom is the son of William Engel of Adrian. For her wedding the bride chose an afternoon dress of aqua with white accessories. Her bouquet was of roses and baby's breath and she wore gardenias in her hair. Mrs. Arthur G. Dork, the bride's attendant, wore an afternoon dress of light blue. She carried pink roses and wore gardenias in her hair. Arthur G. Dork attended the bridegroom. Dinner was served to members of the family at the Van Welde home. Out-of-town guests included Mr. and Mrs. John Podany, Mr. and Mrs. Lou Hornik and family and M. and Mrs. Alex Imlay, all of Detroit. After a short trip, Mrs. Engel will resume teaching at Cleary college, Yipsilanti, and Mr. Engel will report for duty at Fort Custer. The bride attended Bay City Junior college and the University of Michigan.
