After a verdict was returned James W Helme, attorney for the father, and Clarke E Baldwin, who represented the petitioners, conferred at the request of Probate Judge Harry L Larwill and agreed to have Mr Diver taken to the University hospital for treatment. The jury summoned was the first that had been called to hear a case of this nature during the 24 years that Judge Larwill has been on the bench. 3/2/1942 Deerfield March 2 Minard Diver, 74 years old, died yesterday morning after a long illness. Mr Diver was born June 15,1867 in Monroe and when a child came with his parents to Deerfield township where he spent the remainder of his life. His wife, Catherine died May 10, 1912, and since then has made his home with his son, Dale J Diver his home with his son, Dale J Diver. He has been a member of the Deerfield Masonic lodge for 40 years. He is survived by two sons, Dale J and Stacy M, one daughter Mrs Nancy Frayer, 16 grand children and 16 great grand children all of Deerfield. The funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Dale Diver home and at 2:30 o'clock in the Methodist Church.The burial will be in the Deerfield cemetery. The Rev Donn Stubbs will officiate. 3/5/1942 Thursday Minard Diver Deerfield March 5 Funeral services for Minard Diver who died Sunday, were held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the home of his son Dale Diver and at 2;30 o'clock in the Methodist churcg. The Rev Donn Stubbs officiated. The bearers were Lee Frayer, Howard Frayer, Joseph Diver, Minard Diver and Wilson DIver. The burial was in the Deerfield cemetery. Relatives and friends from Detroit, Toledo, Adrian, Blissfield, Slyvania, Ann Arbor, Petersburg, Tipton, Palmyra and Dundee attended the services.
