Mrs. Smith, whose maiden name was Mary Stepanek, was born May 24, 1856, in Pilsen, Czechoslovakia, and came to America, directly to Saginaw, with her parents when she was 16 years of age. She was married here to Mr. Smith, Feb. 8, 1874, and he died Jan. 19, 1914. Mr. Smith operated a grocery store on Wadsworth avenue for many years. Mrs. Smith leaves two daughters, Mrs. Anna B. Van Welde of Saginaw and Mrs. Joseph E. Dork of Saginaw and five grandchildren. Funeral service will take place at 3 pm Saturday at her home. Rev. Arthur J.
