  11/27/1925 Weddings Dempsey-Engel Miss Dorothy ENgel, daughter of Mr & Mrs W C Engel of this city and Chester D Dempsey, son of Frank Dempsey of Goshen, Ind., were married Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock at the home of the bride's grandfather, Byron Stanbury,, in Deerfield. Mr Stanbury, who is a justice of the peace, performed the ceremony in the prescence of the immediate families. Attending the bride and groom were the groom's brother and wife, Mr & Mrs George Dempsey of Adrian. The bridw wore a gown of light blue crepe de chine trimmed in ostrich feathers and carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums. After the ceremony refreshments served by the aunts of the bride, Mrs Lena Foster of Detroit, Mrs May Heiser of Blissfield and Mrs Gertie Dibble of Deerfield. Mr & Mrs Dempsey are to make their home for the present with Mr & Mrs Engel at 999 Division street.
  11/28/1925 Dempsey-Engel Miss Dorothy Engel, daughter of Mr & Mrs Will Engel of Adrian and Chester Dempsey, son of Mr & Mrs Dempsey of Goshen, Ind., were united in marriage Wednesday evening here at the home of the bride's grandfather, Byron Stanbery. The ceremony was performed by the grandfather, who is a justice of the peace. The bride was dressed in Alice blue georgette. Only immediate relatives were present. A dainty luncheon was served after the ceremony. Mr & Mrs Dempsey will make their home at present with the latter's parents, in Adrian.
  1/2/1934 Ten Persons Injured On Wellsville Road None hurt seriously when automobiles collide Ten persons were injured when automobiles driven by Chester Coulter of Monroe and Edward Marks of Wellsville collided at the Oliver Ganon corners near here at 3 o'clock yesterday morning. Mr Coulter accompanied by Miss Dorothea Engel, also of Monroe,was going east and the other car going west.Miss Engel suffered a cut to her face which required fourteen stiches to close and sveral teeth were knocked out. The others were cut and bruised. The passengers in the Marks car were Mr and Mrs Charles Dusseau of Lenawee Junction, Mr and Mrs Leon Jones of Palmyra, Miss Fern Dusseau and her brother and Miss Rogers of Adrian and they were returning from Toledo. The injured persons were treated by Dr A E Lamley of Blissfield and Dr J W Nixon of Holloway and Miss Engel was taken to the Monroe hospital.

  12/7/1942 Monday A decree setting aside and holding deeds void was granted by the court in the suit brought by Julia Philo of Adrian against Lucille B Roeder. The decree also ordered Dorothy M Hardy to execute a deed re-conveying certain property to Mrs Philo.
