Newspaper announcement of Marriage An unusually pretty wedding was solemnized last evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith, 1403 Carroll, when their daughter, Miss Anna B. Smith, was united in marriage to Mr. Henry Van Welde of Detroit, the ceremony being performed at eight o'clock by Rev. W.H.Gallagher in the presence of many friends and relatives of the young people. Miss Josephine Hugener was the maid of honor and Mr. John J. Smith, brother of the bride, acted as best man. The home was tastefully decorated for the occasion, while the couple were the recipients of numerous beautiful and useful gifts. At the conclusion of the ceremony a sumptuous wedding feast was served to those attending. Among those present were the parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Van Welde of Detroit. The bride and groom will leave Thursday for a ten days' wedding trip in the east and will be at home in Detroit upon their return. Witnesses: Josephine K. Funeral Home: REITZ Van Welde, Mrs. Anna B. 407 Royalton Road East Broadview Height, Ohio Widow of Henry Van Welde passed away Saturday morning at the Deaconess Hospital, Broadview Height, Ohio after a one month's illness.Age 79 years. Anna B. Smith was born Dec. 4, 1880 in Saginaw, and had been a lifelong Saginaw resident until about five years ago, when she moved to Broadview Heights. She was married to Mr. Van Welde, July 13, 1911, in Saginaw. He predeased her, Sept. 29, 1916. The deased was a member of St. John's Luthern Church (secon and Federal Streets), its Ladies Aid Society, Professional Business Women's Association and Saginw lodge No. 214 C.S.A. She had taught school for many years at Webber School. Surviving are one son and one daghter, Henry J. Van Welde, Broadview Heights, Ohio; Mrs. Verne Engel, Jackson; one grandaughter, Barbara Engel, Jackson; also one sister, Mrs. Joseph E. Dork, Saginaw. Funeral service by the Reitz Funeral Home. Dr. Hans F. Knauer will officiate with buriel in Evergreen Cemetery, Detroit. Friends may call at the funeral home afer 7 p.m. Sunday.
