Notes
a. Note:   N602 It is interesting to note that in the 1830 census of Ithaca, New York a “Mrs. Venable” is shown, perhaps Sarah’s mother, Susan. Also in the house are a man 30-40 and two women, one 20-30 and one 60-70. Nearby is Alden Lyon, Reuben’s brother. Reuben, in 1830 is in Elmira with two children and two older women. If Sarah died in childbirth with Samuel, then the older women are unknown. The children may be Samuel and Perronette, Caroline’s child by Mr. Chamberlain.
b. Note:   1870 Census has Rhode Island.
