Notes
a. Note:   1 years of age.
Called Joanna S in 1850 census and Susanna in 1860.
She has a granddaughter named Johanna. She is called Susanna on the 1860 census; it may have been her call name (middle name was call name for Germans)
She was described in Jacob's will as his second wife, Hannah Susanna, so we may possibly look for Joanna to be a different person, though not necessarily.
Often called Joanna, in family records and in census. Sometimes called Susanna.
Joanna Susanna on her grave, with her date of birth, date of death, and exact age in days.
Jacob called her Hanna Joanna in his will, and the gravestone has spelled out "Joanna Susanna".
Mary Anne's death certificate states that her mother's name was Johanna Wiser. Sarah Elizabeth Conklin's death certificate states it was Johana Weiser. These aren't the same name, though most other phonetic variations on Wiser would be the same name. They could be pronounced the same way in German. Keiser - Weiser - Wiser.
Sarah's states that she was born in Pennsylvania, which doesn't do alot for its credibility, and as it was handwritten it is not clear that Jacob's name is not written "Wiser" as well. However Mary Anne's was typed. Weiser is a much more common version of this name. The informant on Mary's death certificate was Eva Green. Eva's daughter told my father what we knew on this family, which wasn't a whole lot. It is possible that the Wiser surname was not handed down because along the line someone decided it was simply her married name.
Wiser, Wieser, and other variations meant meadow. Weiser may mean pale complexion or fair hair, and the surname is derived from the German word weises, meaning white - just like "Weiss".
Variations on the name Weiser include Weise, Weis, Weiser, Wise and others. Variations on Wiser include Wieser, Weissert, Weisshaar, Weysser, Wesser, Weisser, Weisert, Weiser, Waaser - and some of these may be more phonetic equivalents.
Pronunciations online range of Weiser range from Wiser to Visah. Wieser on the other hand is pronounced like Weeser or like the English word visa.
Note:   American form of her name is on 1850 census record., it reported her as 4
