<i>From:</i> [email protected] <i>Subject:</i> [PaOldC] McCullough family research <i>Date:</i> Mon, 29 Mar 2004 14:10:39 EST Dear Tina,
While doing a routine search for McCullough in a Chester County rootsweb site, I discovered a message you wrote about one of your family lines (not McCullough). However, you indicated you were researching Mccullough.
I, too, am researching McCulloughs. I'm not sure where all of their PA locations were; I know that their DE and MD locations were all very near the intersection of DE/PA/MD.
Dear everyone else, See anyone who looks familiar?
  Karen Carter Minneapolis, MN
I have Enoch McCullough, d. Mar 2, 1827, near Newark, DE. He and his wife Elizabeth (unknown) were the parents of:
  A. Oliver McCullough: b. Nov. 19, 1798, PA; d. July 6, 1878 near Elkton in train accident; bur. North East, MD. Oliver was married twice -- first wife, unknown names, had four children (I've only documented Enoch Lewis); second wife was named Elizabeth. It is possible her last name was Leader as per the assertions of a now deceased researcher whose research appears lost. He reported they were married Oct. 30, 1828, White Clay Creek Hundred, DE. They had 7 children (possibly 8, but not probable). Kids with first wife:
  Catherin/Catherine Ann, b. 6-6-1822
Enoch Lewis, b. 10-21-1823, MD; d. 4-8-1888, Wilmington, DE; m. Rebecca Foster Their kids: Robert, George, Elizabeth, Oliver, Amanda, Lewis Wesley, Norris.
  Levina, b. 12-22-1825
Susan Ann, b. 10-23-1827 ___________ Kids with Elizabeth (possibly Leader)
Andrew Jackson, b. 2-25, 1830; m. Elizabeth Bristow Their kids: Andrew J., Eugenia, Rudolph.
  Elizabeth, b. 7-4-1832, PA; m. John Buckley.
  Jethro J., b. 7-5-1834, PA; m. Sarah Naile
William H., b. 4-7-1836, PA; d. 12-29-1908, NY; mar. Ann Ellena Cloud, b. DE Their kids: Samuel R., William B., Joseph Winfield, Addie E.,
  Henry/Harry Disston, Francis D., Lula S., Mabel E., Clayton J.
Hannah Mary (prob. same person as Ann listed in one census), b. 3-7-1938, MD; d. 1908, MD; mar. George Wilson. Their kids: Thomas S. and Cyrus D.
Ann (probably is Hannah -- listed in 1850 census when Hannah was not; ages same. Without Hannah being listed, not likely to be Hannah's twin.)
  Oliver J., b. 10-6-1842, MD; d. 9-17-1862, Antietam, MD (battle field death)
Winfield Scott, b. 6-17-1846, DE; d. 9-22-1920, PA; mar. Nancy McDowell. Their kids: Minnie May, Jennie Isabell, Oliver Wilson, Charles Scott, Ellen Mary, Bessie Scott, Howard Purvis.
  B. Jethro J. (maybe Johnson) McCullough, b. 3-8-1810, DE; d. 5-25-1878; bur. MD; mar. Elizabeth Tull.
  Their children:
  E. Frisby, b. 10-17-1834, PA; d. 8-11-1852, prob. MD; bur. MD.
Enoch M., b. 8-8-1836, PA; d. 2-21-1920, bur. MD.; mar. Rebecca E. Killingsworth. Their kids: Ella Wakeman; Bertha; Florence E.; E. Curtis; J. Jay; Oliver Perry.
  George W., b. 11-4-1838, PA; mar. Mary A. (unknown)

John W., b. 12-6-1843, DE; m. Margaret Rebecca Hindman. Their child: Russell Hindman McCullough.
Francina A., b. 6-16-1845, DE; d. 8-27-1883, (visiting) Asbury Park, NJ (living in DE) mar. E. J. Mulhausen. They had one child: Louis Mulhausen.
  Isaac S., b. 3-20-1847, d. 9-9-1866, bur. MD
Charles W., b. 3-14-1851; d. 11-10-1877; mar. Annie (unknown) Their kids: Harry Eldridge; Clarence Osborn
  James R., b. 3-14-1951; d. 9-6-1851
Samuel Delaplaine, b. 8-29-1855, MD; d. 1915, MD; mar. Sarah Emma Martindale. Their kids: Ethel E., Carrie E., Margaret, George W., Nettie Ray.
NOTE: I think there is a high likelihood that Enoch and Elizabeth McCullough could have had other children since there is such a large gap between the birth years of the two know children, Oliver and Jethro.
Also an Adam Smith b abt 1800 died Oct 1858, Philadelphia, PA, lived at the Philadelphia almshouse.
