Note: land when that child was 16. My father's material ahs him died in Appleton, Maryland. 1880 census shows tehm in Mechanicsville, George I age 53, a stacker or something, Anna E age 48, George H, age 18, and Sarah Miller age 51, a servant, b MD. one of his children, 1870 census. Not clear if same family or not. George Smith, 41, b abt 1829 Maryland. lived in Kennett, Chester, PA. Farm laborer Annie Smith 32 Mary L Smith 10 William Smith 6 George H born in 1860 is notably missing. At Ancestry, is listed two more children; Eli M, born 1857, Ohio, and Emma B, botn 1859, Ohio, though no other evidence given he was ever in Ohio. Emma B lived in Richland County, Ohio, in 1880. No other info. Eli lived in Richland County, Ohio, in 1880, no other info given. He also has completely different children listed for William Smith and Mary Dehaven, past the first two, and he puzzlingly listed William as William Henry or (N.) Smith. It sounds very erroneous. There was another George Smith born 1826, to Michael Smith, his mother, of Willistown; he was educated under the Pennsylvania Poor School Children Act. So unclear for example which George I Smith b 1826 in Delaware, served in the Civil War from Chester County - though that sounds distinctly like our George I Smith. He may be the one who lived in East Nottingham with Annie in 1850. Also a George W born 1827, lived in West Whiteland in 1880 census. He died in East Nottingham 24 Jul 1896 of jaundice, was a farmer, married, age 70. George W Smith lived in London Grove and was buried in St Marys Cemetery there. In 1850 census, he did not live with his parents and was not yet married. Jesse hagans 38 farmer Asanith Haze 30 James Garrish 15 laborer George Smith 24. laborer He appears to have served in the Civil War. He is buried at Head of Christiana Church Cemetery, Newark, New Castle, Delaware. His wife Anna R Smith 1830-1911 is also buried there. ????? He married twice? In Delaware, Mr. George L (I) Smith married Ann E Riddle 29 Nov 1849 in New Castle, DE. A second record says he married Aima E Riddle on that date. 1860 census White Clay Creek Hundred, New Castle, Delaware George Smith 33 Anna Smith 29 Marry Smith 9 (Mary) Hosea Smith 7 Horace Smith 5 Louisa Reddle 27 John Loper 24 Jone Johnston 23 1870 census District 4, Cecil, Mayrland. Geo I Smith 43 Annie E Smith 38 Mary L. Smith 19 Hosea R Smith 17 Geo H Smith 10. This is the right family. In 1880 they lived in Mccellandsville, New Castle, DE. George J Smith 53, Anna E Smith 48 George H Smith 18. From family records Annie Reddel, but death certificate of son George H, says his mother was Irene Brittle. I don't see any proper way that is true. The informant was George H's son George I. ?????? There were evidently two children who didn't live to reach adulthood.
Note: His first child was born in August 1860 in Delaware, they moved to Mary
