Note: ich is near Leeds, Yorkshire. He came to the United States from England in 1868 and settled in Rhode Island. He then came to the Philadelphia area and settled in the West End - Cedar Ave. All his children were born in England, when he came to the United States one more child (Harry) was born, but he died in 1874. He was buried in Mt Moriah and the headstone says "our Harry". Edward and his wife are buried in Mt Moriah, the original headstone was ruined by vandals and was replaced with a plain one that only has the name "Muff". This preceding information is from Mary Bertha Muff b 1896, married Andrew Crowley. From the Births, Marriages, and Deaths section of the "Bradford Observer" for Thursday January 5, 1854 - "On Monday week, at the Parish Church, Parish of Huddersfield, County of York, by the Rev F Smith, Mr Edward Muff, of Bradford, bookkeeper, to Eliza, second daughter of Mr Benjamin Stocks, builder, Longwood, near Huddersfield." The witnesses on the marriage certificate (application number 9378H) are Henry Muff and William Elsworth. Edward Muff was christened November 21, 1828 at Horton by Bradford, Bowlinglane New Jerusalemite or Christian Israelite, Yorkshire, England. In the 1857 Kelly's Post Office Directory of Yorkshire listed under "Private Residents" in the Bradford section Edward Muff is listed at 211 Wakefield Road. In Lund's Bradford Directory, 1856 Edward Muff is listed at the same address as cashier (bookkeeper). In 1979 the address could not be found, the building was probably demolished. In 1861 the Kelly's Directory listed his residence as Tyersall Hall and his occupation as Commission Agent.
