Notes
a. Note:   N157 He was a teamster.
From Aunt Millie: Louis was a Private First Class with Medical Detachment 21st F Hospital in World War I. Enlisted June 18, 1917 and discharged August 9, 199 at Camp Sherman, OH.
He worked at Ed Kretz Brick Tard for $1.oo a day (Washington, Indiana)in 1920, and got Marie from the Orphans home through Marie Bogard, one of Marie’s Aunts. Officials of Washington had the old Glendale School torn down in 1977 and they found a brick with L. F. B. scratched in it. His daughter Mary, claimed the brick and she has it today(date?).
Marie liked to play Bingo and Louis liked several games of cards. They had great melody together and sang quite often. Favorite songs: all religious songs and “Springtime In The Rockies”, “Old Dog Tray”, “I’ll Sail My Ships Alone”, Pocket Full Of Dreams”, “Till I Waltz Again With You”, “Spinning Wheel Of Fortune”, “I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles”, “Rags To Riches”, “Sweethearts Are Strangers”, “Silver Threads Among The Gold”, “Aarogon” (Irish), “Five Foot Two”, “Vine Covered Shack In The Mountains”, “Put On An Old Pair Of Shoes”, “Silver Hair Daddy”, plus many, many more. Louis could play the hamonica and Marie could play the organ.
They lived at 603 Blockade, Washington, IN in 1940.
