a. Note:   I began this family history with the use of the Forteckning papers, and I will use John Larsson Frykman throughout. Notes from the Clerical Survey of 1840-1844. The sixth child on this survey of the Lars Larsson family, is listed as JAN. ... Swedish for John? Also provided was a map of Sweden and the Fryksdalen area Varmland as well as Karstad map. Fryksdalen was the town where these children were born.It was the basis for the change in their name which took place. John Larsson Frykman came to the US in 1868, and along with him were the other families...Lars (Olaf) Larsson and his wife and children Westin. Lars Olaf was already 21 when he emigrated.
  John (Jan) Frykman was an operator of a Steamer that crossed the Mississippi four times a day, from Lake City, MN to Stockholm, WI See the Postal Card picture. Original large picture in Museum at Stockholm, WI.Copy of this from DO. In the town of Frankfort WI, Pepin in 1875, John Frychman(sp) is listed as having 3 male and 3 Female members of the family. during the Enumeration of the town. In the Town of Frankfort, Pepin WI in the year of Enumeration of 1885, John Frykman lists 5 male and 7 female members of the family. John and Kajsa moved to Mpls MN in 1893., after the birth of Jordine. The death of Jordine, the last little one took place in Mpls. in 1894 John and Kajsa had lost five infants to diptheria. Family moved to Mpls MN and are listed as Frychman in the 1900 Census. John died 2 years later.
  Name of John Frykman is entered on the marriage Registration. Also listed is Kajsa Olsson (formerly referred to as:Cassandra, Cassy, Cajia Hagstrom)
  I am now using John Frykman as was his married name and registered in the Naturalization. John Larsson Frykman was born Larsson, and changed his name after the death of his father. John Frykman died at 1109 17th Avenue Mps 2nd Ward Hennepin County MN David's notes show burial as John Fryckman.

  After twelve years of research, it is now difficult to get the source material one needs . Ancestry.com needs to make more money by charging for the source material on immigrating early settlers to America now. Immigration 1868 from Sweden. Possibly the first of our ancestry to come to the United States. df Other family members came in 1883 and 1888.
