  Herald Newspaper Obituary reads as follows: Mrs. Margaret De Mars Was a resident of this county for over Sixty years. Last Friday morning at 8 o'clock death came suddenly and unexpectedly to one of the oldest and best known residents of Peru township.Mrs Margaret De Mars, wife of Flavian De Mars. Mrs De Mars age 85 years of age, yet was as hale and hearty as many younger women.On Ash Wednesday she walked two and a half miles to the Catholic Church, where she worshipped. Friday morning she got up early and prepared the breakfast as usual and while at work cleaning off the table she fell, and when picked up, was dead. Heart disease was given as the cause of death, Mr & Mrs De Mars have lived together as man and wife this long period of sixty-five years. Three sons and four daughters all living in the county or near here, are left with the aged father to mourn this mother in Israel. She was born in Montreal, Canada but for over sixty years has lived in this county. Mrs. F De Lisle of Dubuque is one of the daughters. The funeral was held Sunday morning at 9 0'clock at Sherill.
