a. Note:   Wilfred C. Frykman, 91, a resident of Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream, IL, and former Dayton resident, died Thursday, Jan 13, at the Johnson Healthcare Center at Windsor Park Manor. He was born on October 16, 1913, in Minneapolis, MN to Oscar and Adelle Fryckman. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota at Duluth. He was an educator in Rochester, MN and went on to Host a Christian radio program in Lincoln, NB. In 1952 he became International Chaplain of Gideons International in Chicago. He joined Scripture Press where he developed and implemented innovative management strategies, modeled on Peter Drucker's tutelage. (Drucker wrote "The Practice of Management" and was known as the founding father of the science of management.) Mr. Frykman brought his management skills to the board of Trustees at Bryan College in Dayton and served on the board, from 1975 to 1978. He went on to become President and then CEO of Scripture Press Publishing Company in Wheaton. He was a member of the Wheaton Evangelical Free Church, where he had served as chairman. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve; her two daughters, Glennys Aaland of Wheaton and Gelaine (Sam) Gallucci of St. Charles; his six children, Phyllis (Wayne) Dixon of Dayton, TN, Karen (Dr. Robert) Frykman-Steig of San Rafael, CA, Faith Frykman of Door County, WI, Daniel Frykman of Salt Lake City, UT, David (Carole) Frykman of Sister Bay, WI and Dianne (Rick) Capps of Cedar Mountain, NC; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters and a brother. He was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret, nee Gray, Frykman in 1981, his parents and five siblings.
