Notes
a. Note:   Barbara is shown in the 1900 census as a 10 year old student, living in the house of her parents on Carnegie Ave., Pittsburgh. She was a musician and played in the Houlihan Orchestra in 1907-1908; it's not known what instrument she played, but was likely instructed by her uncle, William Houlihan, who lived just 3 houses from the family when she was growing up on Carnegie Ave.
Between 1910 and 1920, she moved with her parents to eastern PA. By the time of the 1920 census, she was married to Matthew B. Lutz and they lived at 1406 Washington Ave, Chester, Delaware Co., PA, next door to her parents. She and her husband had apparently taken in her niece, Stella O'Brien, to live with them; she's identified as their "foster daughter" in census records.
Known as "Bob," Barbara Houlihan Lutz and her husband later lived in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. For many years she was secretary to the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Her husband owned a used car sales agency in Harrisburg.
