Note: In the 1860 census, a B.F. "McFerron" (female) is living in the house of Catherine (McFarren) and James Kinlen, a 22 year old female born in PA whose occupation is "moulder." If this is a younger sister of Catherine/Kate, her birth in PA seems to confirm JJ Houlihan's information that the McFarrens immigrated earlier than 1850.
