a. Note:   In the 1900 census, Charles Houlihan was a 17 year old boy, living in the home of his parents on Natrona St. in the Upper Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh. His occupation is listed as "clerk." In 1914, Charles and Rose McCrory married. Charles and brother John J. Houlihan were close, especially as young married men (see Notes: J.J. Houlihan).
  Charles and Rose are shown in the 1920 census living at 7043 Kelly, Pittsburgh. Daughters Rosemary and Helen were living with them, ages 5 and 2, respectively.
  Charles and his wife are listed in the 1951 Pittsburgh Directory, where Charles F. Houlihan is shown as being Chief Engineer of the Allegheny County Department of Works. Their home was still 7043 Kelly, Pittsburgh. According to daughter Rosemary Linsley, her father was a graduate of Carnegie Tech, now Carnegie-Mellon University.
  Charles Houlihan is buried with his wife at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Route 19, Peters Township, Allegheny Co., PA. His SS number was 166-32-5603.
