Note: We know little about Henry Gallagher. He appears as a 2 year old in the 1870 census in Pittsburgh and as an 11 year old in the 1880 census, "at school." He is listed in the Pittsburgh Directory 1885 as a "clerk" living at 104 Webster Ave., the same address as his father and brother James. In 1895 he's listed as a "clerk," living at 105 Webster Ave., the same address as his father and brother Charles. John J. Houlihan reports that Henry never married. We have record of his burial at Calvary Cemetery, grave 4, lot 346, Section F on 7 April 1898 in the family plot, buried with his parents, maternal grandmother and brother, James. He predeceased his mother by several years. He was age 29 and died of pneumonia, he an unmarried bartender at his death. On 19 April 1998 I visited this burial plot and found no tombstones.
