a. Note:   Catherine was a widow when she married Joseph Ewald and had 2 daughters that I know of by that marriage. She was called "Catherine Czyzcwski Globin" in the marriage records. Other spellings: Ciszewska/Cigzenska. According to Dorothy Reppke, Joe's second wife was a cigar maker.
  According to the Michigan marriage record, she was the daughter of John Czyzcwski and Gertrude Ertmann and born in Germany. On her death certificate, her father's name is shown as "John Cigzenski" and her mother as "Gertrude (____)." She died from phthisis, tuberculosis.
