Note: her-in-law, Frank Ritter. His occupation was "core maker - brass works." He owned his own home, free of mortgage, and could read & write English.
He later lived on Dubay St. in Detroit, MI near Frank & Constance Ritter. His wife was a "bootlegger" during prohibition; Marion Houlihan tells how the Detroit Police used to come by the house and buy their liquor. They drove a Chrysler. Marion recalls going to feed stores with her aunt to buy corn, etc. for her alcohol making.
Frank lived with his daughter Bernardine in Alpena later in his life, after his wife died; he used to get seizures (epilepsy) which kept him out of the service. He is buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit, section 24, lot 1180 along with his wife. Arrangements were handled by Temrowski Funeral Home, Detroit. A visit to the cemetery 20 June 1996 by Marion Ritter Houlihan, Barbara Ritter and me revealed no tombstone at Frank's grave, only one for his wife, Rose.
The Michigan Death Index indicates his birth as 23 Sept. 1889. Resident of Maple Ridge, Alpena Co., MI at his death.
