Notes
a. Note:   , perhaps, that they were fairly newly married.
At the 1930 census she was a widow, the proprietress of a shoe store. On 6 Aug 1930 Emma, age 65 and son Amandus, 28, were passengers aboard the ship "Europa" from Bremen, Germany to New York, their final destination being Wyandotte, MI. She had apprently returned home for a visit.
She outlived her husband by 36 years and was a resident of 514 Oak St., Wyandotte, MI at her death 3 September 1951 at age 87. This was the same address as that of her son Felix, who provided the information on the death certificate. She died of cancer of the right bronchus (lung) and esophagus, complicated by severe arteriosclerosis and arteriosclerotic heart disease. She died at Harper Hospital in Detroit where she had been a patient for 12 days. She was buried 6 September 1951 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Wyandotte, in Section D, lot 171, grave 2. It's presumed that her husband is also buried there, although cemetery records do not so indicate.
Note:   Emma Rau was, like her husband, born in Prussia/Germany. She immigrated with Franz on the steamer "Karlsruhe" March 1891. She was 26 and her husband was 28. No children accompanied them suggesting
