Notes
a. Note:   n as his brothers Fred, Jr., Joseph and Nick, living at 246 38th St. - the same address as Fred, Sr. and Jr.
At the 1900 census, his occupation was again "boilermaker." He apparently never married and lived with his mother at the time of the census. At the 1910 census, he was living with sister Elizabeth. At the time of the 1920 census, he was living at 246 38th St., Pittsburgh, with his unmarried sister Elizabeth and widowed brother Frederick. He is also listed as living with his brother Frank and his family on Carson St. the same year.

He died from a fractured skull; the funeral was held at St. Augustine Church. These records indicate his birthplace as Pittsburgh, but I've chosen to use census records as being more accurate.
Note:   Charles Guttendorf was born in Germany according to the 1900 census and must have immigrated to the US as an infant. He is listed in the 1895 Pittsburgh Directory as a boilermaker, the same occupatio
