a. Note:   r Gazette for a Roseanne or Rose McCarthy or McCarty.
  I also checked the 1900 census for PA for a Rose or Roseanne McCarthy. While one was found, it does not "fit" this Roseanne as that person was born Ireland 1836 and was living with a daughter Jane, born Dec., 1873 married to a William Barth; our Roseanne had no such daughter. However, this should be examined further as this "Jane" may be daughter "Jennie" shown as born about 1869 in the 1870 census. I've not found a marriage record for Jennie, but William Barth, born Sept. 1870 should be checked in the Pittsburgh Marriage License Index to determine the maiden name of the Jane he married. With frequent date differences between records, this record should not be dismissed.
  I have since confirmed that daughter "Jennie"/Jane was also known as Sarah and married to William Barth, per her death certificate.
Note:   At her husband's death 27 Feb. 1889, his death certificate listed him as "married," therefore Roseanne was likely still alive. I was unable, however, to locate an obituary in the Pittsburgh Press o
