Since the other Joannes Ewald baptismal record is clear and is easily identified as John "Pedro" Ewald, I am certain that this information is correct. John first appears as a 1 year old child in the 1900 census, living at 782 Hastings, Detroit, with his parents and siblings. At the 1910 census, after the death of his mother, he was still living with his father and siblings, now at 512 Alexandrine St., Detroit. He appears again in the 1920 census a boarder in the home of John Rzepkowski at 505 Alexandrine St, Detroit. He was 20 years old. This house is just down the street from 512 Alexandrine where his family had lived at the time his mother died in 1908. Jim Ewald died at Redford General Hospital in Detroit. His body was donated to Wayne State University Medical School; there is no grave.
