a. Note:   Bracisznewski) Lesinski, both German-born immigrants. His godparents were Lawrence/Laurentius Bracisznewski and Catherine Wroblewski. This is recorded in Vol. I, page 70 of the church's records.
  His marriage to Leocadia Ewald is recorded in St. Josephat church records where his parents are shown as Michael and Anastasia Braciszewska - Anastasia was actually Walter's stepmother, the sister of his birth mother, Josephine. His date of birth is shown in these records as 7/24 rather than 7/29 (his military records also show his birth day as 7/24).
  Walter served in the US Naval Reserve as a fireman 3rd Class. He enlisted at Detroit 7/17/1918 for 4 years; he was honorably discharged 9/30/1921 at Great Lakes, IL. He was described in his discharge papers as being 5'4" 130 lbs, with brown eyes and a ruddy complexion. He worked in maintenance much of his life and was employed at St. Brigid's Church, Detroit at the time of his death. He and his wife and daughter resided at 13960 Ward Ave, Detroit for many years, later in Redford and Royal Oak, MI before moving to Clinton Township.
  Walter Lesinski died at Sinai Hospital, Detroit the result of cancer of the tonsil and metastatic carcinoma of the neck. He is buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, MI; section 4, lot 424, grave #4. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Ted C. Sullivan Funeral Home.

Note:   Walter Lesinski was baptized July 26, 1896, 2 days after his birth, at St. Francis d'Assisi Church, 4500 Wesson Ave, Detroit. His baptismal name was Ladislaus Lesinski, son of Michael and Josephine (
