Thomas was b. abt 1796 in N.C. d. according to the Perry County, MO census of 1850, 1860, 1870, d. bet 1880-1881 MO?. He was a surveyor in TN & MO & possibly IL, he ran for public office there & am told he was elected, but I don't know what county yet. Mary was born abt 1809 according to Perry County census of 1850, 1860, 1870, 1876, & 1880. Her parents are James Thompson and Martha Abernathy they also had Royal Thompson, Lawson Thompson, and James N. Thompson. Mary and Thomas children are Martha Caroline b.5-4-1830 d. 9-27-1896 m. Joseph Hicks, John Calvin b. 1-1833 d. 6-24-1893 m Sarah Jane Baldwin, Elizabeth Elvira b.1838 m. Jesse Strickland, Isabella Adeline b. 1838 m. Herman Gamblin, James Thompson b. 1838, d. abt 24 yrs old [1862], twin of Isabella, he never married, Lawson b. 5-10-1840 d. 10-16-1902 m. Elizabeth Counts, Carroll b. 10-15-1842 m. I found all of Thomas and Mary's children in the 1870 census for St. Mary's Township, Perry County, MO. Thomas Jefferson's place in Perry County was sold for taxes abt 1880. Mary was not listed as an heir, she must have d. abt 1880-1881.
