After Nancy died, Joseph married Eleanor "Nelly" Curtis Stricklin, former wife of Golman Green Stricklin, on 14 Apr 1883 in Wayne Co.TN. They had one daughter, Canzada, b. Oct 1885. She was mentally retarded, and lived in the Wayne Co. PoorHouse for a period of time. Other sisters of Nancy Curtis were Sarah Garner Curtis and Alcy Curtis. (CUR/STC-010) * Joseph L. Holt was Justice of the Peace in Wayne Co TN in 1885, and performed the marriage ceremony of Golman Green Stricklin Jr. & M. R.Wilson. Joseph was step-father of Golman Jr. at that time. * Joseph was appointed Postmaster for Cypress Inn, Wayne Co, on 17 Oct 1857. All of his sons, and two of his sons-in-law fought for the Union side during the Civil War.
