On the census, her last name was shown to be Curry, and her relationsihip to the head of household, Herbert Curry, was shown to be "granddaughter". They were 2 households away from Helen's mother, Gertie, with her 2nd husband, William Albert Broadway. * 1940 Decatur Co TN, Dist 4, age 18, in school, living in household of uncle, Herbert Curry (Census showed her to be the daughter of Herbert Curry, which was wrong). She was enumerated in the census as the last person listed in the census. They referred her back to household 105, which was her uncle Herbert. She had changed her name as Curry, not her mother's married name, Minton. * BIRTH DATE FROM ROBERT W. MINTON SR. BIBLE. * Funeral service for Ms. Helen Jewel Clenney, age 93 of Milan will be held at 10 am on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at My Father's House Church in Trenton. Burial will be in the Gibson County Memory Gardens near Milan. Family visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:30 - 8:30 pm at the church and after 9 am Thursday at the church. Ms. Clenney was a member of My Father's House Church and she was a retired worker for the Rock Ten Packaging Company. Surviving Family: Son - Don (Linda) Clenney Daughter - Diane (David) Reasons Brother - Billy Broadway Sisters - Velma Curry, Nema Clenney, Dee Riley, and Bonnie Hammers 4 - Grandchildren 9 - Great Grandchildren Memorials may be directed to the Tupelo Children's Mansion. (NOTE: On Find-A-Grave (online), it shows that her parents were Herbert Franklin Curry & his wife, Ozzie J. Curry as Helen's parents, which of course is wrong. Herbert was her uncle & his wife, Ozzie, was her aunt. (She chose to not use her mother, Gertrude Curry's, married name, since Gertrude & Robert Wesley Minton separated when Helen was a small baby.)
