Notes
a. Note:   ia. * Her father may have been Jesse Chisom. * Middle name, and fact that she was an Indian (HAL077, p 29) * Death prior 1833 (ROBT01) * Nancy's brother was supposed to have made the Chisom Trail.(ROBT01) * http://worldconnect.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:2496648&id=I527496172 John D. Chism,, descended from Elijah M. Chism, son of Blind John Chisholm, son of David Chisholme, son of Adam Chisholme who came to Virginia in 1716 as an indentured servant. Adam was born in Scotland around 1695 and was captured in a battle at Preston, Lancashire on 9 November 1715 between Scottish rebels and the King's forces. Adam was forced to be an indentured servant because of his participation as a rebel. Adam and his son David stayed in Virginia but Blind John went to South Carolina, served in the Revolution where he was blinded, and late in life he migrated to Alabama with some of his children. John's son Elijah went to Hardeman County and later Lauderdale County, Tn where he died and his son John D. married Sarah Jane Robertson in 1835 in Hardeman County, TN and eventually migrated to Tippah County, MS. Sarah Jane Robertson's father, Asa Robertson, was born around 1778 or 1779 in Augusta County, VA and married Nancy Ann Chisom in Livingston, Ky in 1800 and migrated to Hardeman County, TN where I believe Nancy Ann died and Asa remarried and moved to Tippah County, Ms. There were two Chism lines coming out of Virginia. I know John came from the Adam Chisholme line but I don't know which line Nancy Ann Chisom came from. The other Chism line migrated primarily to Kentucky and then westward. I know that some of that line married Indians and it is believed that Nancy Ann's mother was an Indian. I feel that Nancy Ann came from the second Chism line because of the Indian heritage and the fact she was in Kentucky. * 1800, Livingston Co KY; married Asa Robertson 9 May 1800. * 1820 Caldwell Co KY census, Darnells Parish, (P 5), 220011-1001, age 26-45. * 1830 Hardeman Co MS census, (P 89) 1112001-221001, age 30-40.
Note:   * Her daughter, Priscilla W.'s 1880 census, showed that her mother, Nancy, was born in Virgin
