Note: From Betty (Fulk) Meli: Samuel Linebaugh came to Page Co. [Iowa] with his parents in 1845. Samuel and his wife moved to Oregon but stayed but a short time, then returned to Iowa and settled in Page County [Iowa] where they resided almost continual until Samuel's death. He died at the residence of his daughter America Rosana Linebaugh Davison in Clarinda, Iowa, at 6:00 pm, at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 19 days. He and his wife had twelve children, four children having departed this life while very young. Samuel united with the Christian Church at Siam, Iowa, afterwards moved to Missouri and there united with the Methodist Church at Clearmont. He was a loving husband and father, he was patient through all his suffering. He told the writer that he was resigned to the Lord's will, and said that all was well with his soul. Funeral services were held at 2:30, Wednesday afternoon, January 11, at the United Bretheren Chruch, the service being conducted by Rev. George J Corsford. Internment was in the Clarinda City Cemetery. - Obituary from Lona Fulk to Betty (Fulk) Meli. While Samuel's death certificate states that Stonebraker is his mother, in fact, Sarah Elizabeth Tucker is his natural mother, dying before August, 1835, perhaps at childbirth with Samuel. So Elizabeth Stonebraker's marriage to John Linebaugh, Jr. on August 10, 1835 makes her Samuel's stepmother. Death Certificate in possession of Betty (Fulk) Meli. _______________________________ From Diane Wiscarson: PAGE COUNTY IOWA LAND RECORDS 11Jul 1906 - Elizabeth Linebaugh, Samuel husband & wife, to William M Gray of Page co; $1000; 17 acres; in Portion of Sec 32, T68, R36. 165/565 _________________________ 1860 Taylor Co., Iowa Census, Polk Twp., P.
