The next census page image is missing on Ancestry.com and probably contains Lucinda. _______________ 1860 Fulton Co., Ill. Census, Farmers Twp., P. O.   Mr. John Hoyle a former citizen of Adair and vicinity passed away at the home of his son, Joseph, in Macomb last Thursday evening after an illness of only a few hours.
Mr. Hoyle seemed to be in his usual health that morning but ate very little breakfast, after which he went to his room and as was his custom laid down for a while. About 11 o'clock his daughter-in-law thought he stayed there a good while and went to look after him and found him unconscious, she called her husband and a physician, and they did all that could be done for him but he failed rapidly and passed away in the evening. Until that day he went about the house and yard at will and enjoyed the association of any who called at the home and the cause of his death was a weak heart owing to his advanced years.
John Hoyle was born in Devonshire, England, April 7, 1826 and departed this life at his home in Macomb, Ill., May 12, 1921, at the age of 95 years 1 month and 5 days. When a small boy he, with his parents came to America and settled in Ohio where he grew to manhood and where he was later engaged in the woolen mills. When a young man he moved to Fulton county, Ill. April 22, 1847, he was united in marriage to Lucinda Walters, and they lived on a farm near Table Grove, until 17 years ago when they moved to Adair where they resided until the death of Mrs. Hoyle three years ago, after a happy wedded life of 71 years. To them were born 13 children, seven having preceded them in death, as follows: Selia, and May Hoyle, Caroline Murphy, Lavina Cannon, and three infant children. Those living are, Mrs. Sarah Gorsage of Betheny, Nebr., Frank Hoyle of Smithfield, Ill., Joseph, John, Jr. and Lawrence Hoyle of Macomb, Ill., and Mrs. Etta Brush of Washington, Iowa.
He united with the Baptist church at Hickory Grove in early life and remained a faithful member until his death, always showing by his cheerful disposition that his life was not always hardships, and his goal was Father said "Well done good and faithful servant, come up higher."
The funeral services were held at the Temple Church Sunday morning at 11 o'clock conducted by Rev. Herbert Turner of Macomb, internment in the Temple cemetery.
