The body was laid to rest in the Farmington Cemetery. Green Berry Taylor Walters was born in Iowa in 1852, and as he grew to manhood, he felt himself called to preach the gospel of Christ, and for 25 years he traveled Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri preaching the Word. The "Highway of Holiness" under his influence and work was made smoother and brighter. Upon one occaion in his ministry, a group of young men went to his house and called him out in a terrible storm to go two miles and hold a service. As a result of these meetings about half of the town were converted. Brother Walters motto was, Spend and be spent for the Lord God of Hosts; and such was the life of this old soldier of the cross. He was married to Miss Emmie Spurgeon, and after 25 years of rich married life she left this earth in 1899 for the home prepared without hands whose builder and maker is God. She has been waiting for him at the beautiful gate until Dec 3rd, 1922. Green Walters went to be with his God and loved ones. Had he lived until the 25th of this month, we would have reached the 70th milestone of his life. At the time of his death he was living at Wallace, Idaho, with his only living son. He had a daughter living, Lewella Engle. She and her brothers are the only ones of his family to mourn his going.
