Linebaugh] became Arthur Barrett's brother-in-law in Nov. 1880. __________________ Various death years appear for Columbus Linebaugh. Since he is in the 1880 Census above, the 1875 death year is incorrect. C. B. Linebaugh was petitioning for Guardianship of his little orphaned sister, Ettie Linebaugh, in May 1887 so the 1885 year is also incorrect. ____________________ From Diane Wiscarson: The California Great Register for 1882 lists: Linebaugh, Columbus age 24, born Iowa, farmer lives in rural Santa Rosa. In 1890 reconstructed census Columbus was a farmer living in rural Santa Rosa. OBITUARY At his home in Ashland, May 26, 1895 of consumption, C.B. Linebaugh, aged about 37 years. Deceased came to Ashland from Camp Creek, Lane County, two years ago with his family, hopeful that a change of climate would result beneficially to his failing health. The dread consumption had gotten too strong a hold upon its victim, though, and Mr. Linebaugh has been gradually failing for months and for weeks it has been a peaceful contest between life and death, until there was little left for death to conquer, final dissolution coming last night. Mr. Linebaugh leaves in his immediate family a wife and four children, the eldest child about 8 years of age. Funeral services at the M.E. Church Wednesday at 2 P.M. by Rev. Mr. Meminger.
