Thomas E. Gamble and his family are shown living next door to a Perficient? L. Gamble, age 24, wife Isabell, age 23, and son Gustavus, age 2. Perficient Gamble was the son of Thomas E & Martha E. Gamble. ---------------------------------- Ballinger Information- Thomas E. Gamble served in the Army of the Confederacy. He was about 41 years old when he joined the army. He appears on the company muster roll of Captain Moses' Squad, Alabama Calvary on 10 September 1863. He enlisted that day at Hickory Flat, Alabama for a period of three years. This company became Co. A., Capt. Moses' Squad, Alabama Calvary. This squadron was transferred to the 8th Regiment, Alabama Calvery, by S.Q. No. 147, dated 6 October 1864 and became companies I & K of the 8th Regiment , CSA. Gamble who resides in the state of Texas, post office address unknown You and each of you will take notice that pending the administration of the estate of T.E. Gamble, deceased, that M.B. Foster, a daughter of the deceased, has filed an application to the probate alleging on oath that the petitioner's father did advance property to petitioner's brothers as follows: To P.Q. Gamble of Glenn, Georgia, property worth $50. To L.C. Gamble, of Greenwood, Arkansas, property worth $50. To S.L. Gamble of Hubbard City, Texas, property worth $50. To N.A. Gamble, property worth $75. That the value of such advancement is not expressed in any conveyance or receipt or in any charge made by decedent, within applicant's knowledge.
