  "Dr. McCollister funeral today
  Dr. John William McCollister, 44, a dentist who practiced in North Birmingham for 10 years, died Friday at his home at 109 Eadom Place. Dr. McCollister was a member of the North Birmingham chamber of Commerce and Mount Vernon United Methodist Church. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a Major in the Army during the Korean conflict. A graduate of Phillips High School and the University of Alabama School of Dentistry, he also attended Auburn University and Samford University. Funeral services will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Roebuck Chapel with burial in Forest Hill. Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Misses Lynne Anne and Karen Laine McCollister, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W.
