Note: CENSUS DATA: The 1900 & 1910 census records show that Estell/Estelle McGraw was adopted by William L. and Nora L. May. In the 1900 census, Jefferson Co., AL, Pct. 29, Estell is shown as "adopted daughter", 6 years old, born in AL. The 1910 record , Jefferson Co., AL, 30 Pct., shows her as "adopted daughter", age 16, born AL. William L. May's occupation was listed as family physician. In the 1910 census Nora L.'s mother, Martha M. Huffman, was also living with the family.
CENSUS DATA: The 1920 census record shows Lusius W. [W. Lucious] May living in Hanceville, Cullman Co., Al. Living with him were his wife, Lenora and his mother-in-law, Martha Huffman. Estelle McGraw is not listed. NOTE: We now know that Estelle married on 12 December 1919 in Cullman Co., AL and no longer lived in the May family home. See 1920 Cullman County census below. NOTE: In 1930 William L. May, wife, and mother-in-law are living in Powhatan, Jefferson Co., AL and he is working as a physician.

Also, Clyde's mother, Emma [Dixon] Young 42, mother, widowed, born NC and his uncle, William W. Dixon 49, uncle, born NC were living in the home. The family lived at 76 Beeline Highway, Hanceville, AL. COMMENTARY: I now know the above 1920 census shows our Estelle McGraw Young and her husband, Clyde D. Young. The discovery of Estelle and Clyde's marriage record in Cullman Co., AL confirmed my thinking. Also, family member obituaries note that Estelle was married to C. O. Young.
