Note:   CENSUS DATA: The 1910 census, Lee Co., AL, Phenix Ward 1Vol = 69; Ed = 175; Sheet = 10; indicated that Ellendon McCollister was head of household and lived at Beat 10, 434 Broad Street, Phenix City in Lee-Russell County. She was shown as running a boarding house. She lived with with the following children: Nellie (Probably Cornelia E.) - dau. age 42; Edward - son age 31; Willie, (Mary Willie Watson) dau.-in-law, age 31 and wife of Edward; Kate - dau. age 28 and Carrie - dau. age 26. Also other family members living with her were: Missouri Crawford - dau., age 32, and widowed; Margurite - granddau., age 5; and Eddy, Jr. - grandson age 3. Ellendon was born GA and all other family members shown born AL. The following boarders were living there: Walter J. Stephens, age 24, bookkeeper and John Roberto, age 26, dentist. Edward's occupation was shown as "machinist." ------------------------------------------------------------------ Obituary information from the Columbus Enquirer, November 20, 1918, reads: "Mrs. Elender Melvina McCollister, aged 75, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. A. A. Lind, No. 420 Broad street, Phenix City, at 7:55 last night of influenza. She leaves three sons, James, of Phenix City, W. A. and E. T. of Columbus and seven daughters, Miss Nealy McCollister of Phenix City, Mrs A. F. Gibson of Atlanta, Mrs. A. A. Lind, Mrs. J. M. Miller, Mrs. Minnie Crawford, Miss Kate McCollister, Mrs. Carrie Wilcox, all of Phenix City, and two sisters, Mrs. R. A. Cutter of Phenix City and Mrs. C. W. Tharp of Columbus. She was a member of Trinity Church of Phenix City, probably the oldest member of the church and was a woman of fine character and greatly beloved by a large circle of friends, who will be very much grieved to learn of her death. Funeral services will take place at the residence at eleven o'clock tomorrow, Rev. J. P. Daughtry conducting the service. The pallbearers will be as follows: Hugh Baird, T. ?. Crawford, O. A. Easton, T. B. Boyce, T. R. Booth and R. O. Floyd.
