Note: CIVIL WAR RECORDS: Records show a Charles W. Huson enlisted in Co. E. 41st Inf. Regiment of GA. on 4 March 1862. The enlistment was in Troup Co., GA and Charles W. Huson was discharged on 9 June 1862 in Tupelo, MS. COMMENTARY: Whether this is the Charles W. Hewson who married Saphronia McCollister is not know at this time; however, it is quite possible that soldier Hewson was severely wounded and discharged to return home.
