Anderson District(I Andrew McCollister junior considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and of sound and perfect mind and mimory (sic). Blessed be the Almighty God for all his mercies I do make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner and form following viz. I will and desire after my decease that I be decently buried and that my funeral expenses be punctually paid together with all my just debts after which I do will that all my property be sold on a credit of twelve months. I do will that all my money and debts that are endue me be collected. I farther (sic) will to my Brother Nathan McCollister one dollar. I farther (sic) will to my nephew Andrew Todd two hundred dollars of the first money that is collected. I farther (sic) will that the balance of the money be divided between & equally between Robert Todd's 6 children, Robert McCollister's 4 children, William McCollister's 3 children and John McCollister's 1 child viz Robert Todds 6 children Jane M. Gordon, Mary Ann Todd, Elizabeth Todd, Margarette Todd, James Todd, & John Todd. Next my brothers 3 (sic) children, to wit, Elizabeth McCollister, Andrew McCollister, Syrena Emaline McCollister and Mary McCollister. Next my brother William's children viz Jane McCollister, Mary McCollister and William McCollister. Next to brother John's child James McCollister. When the expenses and bills is (sic) paid and one dollar to my brother Nathan and two hundred dollars to my nephew Andrew Todd I will and desire that the balance of my money be divided equally between my 3 brother's and one sister's children as above mentioned. I further will and desire after my decease that if my brother Nathan pays up the money that he is now endue me he shall have the land back that I sold at sheriffs sale and bought. I further will and desire that Andrew Todd and Robert Todd will be my Executors in witness where of I have set my hand and seal the twenty eighth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty nine and the fifty third year of Independence of the United States of America. Her name was derived from a Pendleton District , SC land record where Jinnett McAllister gave up her dower right to land that passed from Andrew McAllister, Jr. to his father, Andrew McAllister, Sr. in 1806. The land transaction was witnessed by Robert Todd, John McAllister and Nathan McAllister on 4 January 1806. The dower relinquishment portion of the record reads as follows: "The State of South Carolina. I Elijah Brown a justice of the Jurors do here by certify to all whom it may concern that Jinnett McAllister wife of the within named Andrew McAllister, Jur. came before me and on being ________(unreadable) & ________(unreadable) ________ (unreadable) by me do declare that she freely, voluntarily and without compulsion, dread or fear of any person or persons whomever renounces, _____ (unreadable) and forever relenquish unto the within named Andrew McAllister, Senr. his heirs ___ (unreadable) ____ (unreadable) forever all her interest and states also all her rights and claims of dower of _____ (unreadable) to all or singular the _________ (unreadable) within mentioned and released.
