  Sept. 23, 1925 - Nov. 20, 2005 (Daily Record - Canon City, CO) Richard C. BOATNER, Sr. of Longmont died Nov. 20, 2005, at Longmont United Hospital. He was 80. He was born Sept. 23, 1925, to Robert and Velma (McCalister) Boatner in Montgomery, Ala. He served in the U.S. Army Infantry in World War II. In December 1957 he married Tillie Cortez in Farmington, New Mexico. He moved to Longmont in 1969. Mr. Boatner was a carpenter, and also worked in oil fields in New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Arizona and Wyoming, retiring in 1970. He was a member of Church of Christ, and enjoyed fishing, cooking, singing and working on cars. He loved being with his children, grandchildren and family. He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Clarence Boatner and Robert Boatner III; and two sisters, June Boatner- Pant and Betty Cody. He is survived by two sons, Richard C. Boatner Jr. of Longmont and Jerry Boatner and his wife Ami of Firestone; four daughters, Alice Boatner of Longmont, JaDawn Ennis of Washington, Barbara Boatner of Longmont and Patricia Boatner-Pena and her husband Orlando of Los Lunas, N.M.; a stepdaughter, Linda Aguirre and her husband Joe of Longmont; a sister, Carolyn Williams of S.C.; twelve grandchildren, Olivia, Odyssey, Onyx and Olysha Pena, Gilbert and Mandi Ann Boatner, Joseph and Fabian Aguire, Amanda Maliza and her husband Anthony, Ana Tapia, Vanessa Brown and Ali Boatner; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Vigil service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 22, 2005, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005, at Longmont Church of Christ, 1351 Collyer St., in Longmont. Interment at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard Boatner Fund and sent in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, 326 Terry St. Longmont 80501.
