Eagan #13218 Wilson County 45th Infantry. ******************************************************** Note: Applied for Tennessee Confederate Pension #13218, Wilson County, Tennessee, for service in the 45th Infantry. He was living in Mt. Juliet, Wilson County, Tennessee at the time. These records show that James enlisted December 12, 1861. He was captured during the Battle of Missionary Ridge November 25, 1863 and taken to Rock Island, Illinois prison. He was released from there February 12, 1865. He states his mother petitioned someone to obtain his release, and he took no Oath of Allegiance to be released. The prison records states he took the oath. At the time of his application in September 1911, he was living with his wife, age 75 and daughter, age 35. They were supported by a son, but this son was an invalid due to Tuberculosis. He later died, but James still had received no pension in 1913. There a couple of letters regarding James' service dated in 1931. Do not know if he was still living. If so he would have been nearly 100.[mcdowell.ft[mcdowell.ftw] Marriage from IGI for MO.
