"Mollie" Wingfield, who "brought the two younger children to Georgia, leaving William and Ann with the Gowen relatives in South Carolina." The "Gowen relatives" were not identified. It is believed that he did not marry. He died before his brother, William W. Gowen and was buried at Old West Union Church Cemetery, Colesburg, Camden County, three miles south of Woodbine. "THE GOWEN MANUSCRIPT" Barney B. Gowen was buried at Old West Union Church Cemetery, Colesburg, Camden County, three miles south of Woodbine. In the US Census, 1850, he is listed as being born in SC. and was living next door to my great great grandparents, Nathaniel J. Patterson and Mary Ann Brown.
