Note: Nelson and Mary Jane (Robinson) Kyle, the former a native of Madison County, who lived at Bellefonte and Scottsboro, was salt agent during the War of Secession, served as sheriff of Jackson County, 1865- 1868, as deputy in the probate office, 1868-1874, as county treasurer, 1870-1874, as judge of probate, 1874-1880, and as register in chancery from 1880 until his death, September 19, 1886, at Scottsboro ******************************************************************************************** Father of William Anderson, James Alfred Hudson, Sallie Bett & Charles Edward; son of John & Mary Jane Kyle. *************************************************************************************** Husband of Mary Jane (Robinson) Kyle; father of William Anderson, James Alfred Hudson, Sallie Bett & Charles Edward; son of John & Mary Jane Kyle ***************************************************************************************************** Nelson Kyle was a son of John Kyle, and a native of Alabama. He was a farmer and subsequently a merchant at Bellefonte, and has been Sheriff, Clerk of the Probate Court, County Treasurer, Probate Judge from 1874 to 1880, and was Register in Chancery at the time of his death, September 19, 1886. He was married, first, to the widow of Henry Walker, of Bellefonte, daughter of Nelson Robinson, and one of a family of five. They were the parents of three sons and one daughter, viz.: William; James A., the subject of our sketch; Sallie B., wife of W. B. Hunt; and Chas.
