  ************************************************************************************ Death Calls Mrs. W. A. Kyle
Mrs. William A. Kyle, age 72, passed away at her home early Monday morning following a few days illness. The announcement of her death was a shock to her friends. She had been ill since Saturday, but it was not believed she was so desperately ill. The end came suddenly and peacefully.
No woman in Scottsboro was more universally loved than Mrs. Kyle. She had spent most of her life in Scottsboro. Seventy-two years ago she was born in the home of an itenerant Methodist preacher, the late Rev. Warren D. Nicholson. He served as pastor in the various sections of this Conference, at one time the local Methodist Church. In 1885 she was married to William A. Kyle of this place and to this union seven children were born, four of whom are living, three sons, Warren, Walter, and Mack, and one daughter, Miss Mary Kyle. Her husband preceded her to the grave about four years.
Mrs. Kyle possessed a kind and gentle disposition that won for her many friends and admirers. In early girlhood she possessed religion and joined the Methodist Church and from that day lived a devoted Christian life. Her greatest delight was in serving her Lord and her loyalty and faithfulness to her Church was marvelous. Our community, our church has lost one of its most faithful and sorrow fills the hearts of our people. We wonder at the providence that takes her from our midst, but bow in humble submission to Him who doeth all things well.
Her funeral was conducted from the Methodist Church Wednesday at 3 o'clock and was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Guy F. Ponder and was attended by a large crowd of sorrowing friends and relatives.
Truly, a great mother and friend has gone from us, but our loss is her eternal gain.
