Johns-Parton This small plot is located on the hill south o f The Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Midway, Greene Co., TN. Take Solomon Road to the end. The property is owned by Dorothy (Cansler) Solom on and the graves are 100 yards east of the house, by the fencerow. There are 4 or 5 graves marked with fieldstones, and no names on the graves. Mar y Jo (Luttrell) Livingstone, a relative of the Kirk Family said, "The people buried there were kin-folk of William "Bud" Kirk, he was Ed Kirks� dad." (Ed ran a grocery store in Midway and was well known.) She said no one rememb ers the names of anyone who is buried there. Note 4: Meaning of Name Last Na me: Kirk N English and Scots: topographic name for someone who lived near a c hurch or metonymic occupational name for someone who was employed in one, fro m Northern ME kirk church (ON kirkja; see further at Church).   Greene Co. TN 1830 Federal Census The first group of numbers represent males. The first position represen ts the number of males age 0 to under five. The second position represen ts the number of males age 5 to under 10. The 3rd position represents mal es 10 to 15. The 4th position represents the number of males 15 to 20. T he 5th position represents the number of males 20 to 30. Each position aft er that increases in 10 year increments.
