Notes
a. Note:   ted. It just so happens that Virgil had a milk cow that John wanted so the trade between the country's formost horse traders was on. According to dad the old chevy was leaking oil about as fast as John could put it in and it was all John could do to keep kicking dirt over the oil without Virgil seeing it. Well after about 3 nickel pops and a lot of dirt kicking the deal was made. They traded straight across. On the way home John was slapping the steering wheel and braging to dad how he had burnt Virgil in the trade. Well the next day John and Dad took a truck to Virgil's pasture to get the milk cow. The cow was a runner and it took dad and John all day to finally corner the cow and get it loaded. After they got the cow home John tried to milk it but found out it was also a kicker and John was never able to milk it. That was the last time John ever tried to trade with Virgil the king of trade.
