Note: JOHN EDGOOSE 1683-1706 (Son of John EDGOOSE 1649-1715) John, son of John and Joan EDGOOSE, was baptised at Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, on 13 April 1683. John EDGOOSE had married Joan CRUNKHORNE at Pinchbeck on 18 November 1669. John EDGOOSE of Pinchbeck was bound in the sum of £20 'to answer'. Charge not stated. (Holland Quarter Sessions, Spalding Midsummer 1703) NB There is no proof that this incident refers to this particular John EDGOOSE. John EDGOOSE junior married Mary PLURRET at Pinchbeck on 15 June 1704. John, son of John EDGOOSE junior and Mary, was baptised at Pinchbeck on 18 May 1705. John EDGOOSE, yeoman, was buried at Pinchbeck on 13 October 1706. Spalding cum Membris Court Rolls 2 October 1708: J. EDGOOSE To the use of his will At this court it was witnessed by Theophilus BUCKWORTH, gentleman, customary tenant of the aforesaid manor, upon his corporal oath, That on the twenty seventh day of September last past, John EDGOOSE, customary tenant of the aforesaid manor, Surrendered by rod, through the hands of the said Theophilus, into the hands of the Lady of the aforesaid manor, according to the custom of the same manor, All and singular his customary lands and tenements whatsoever, held of the aforesaid manor, To the uses and purposes mentioned and declared, or to be mentioned and declared, in the testament and last will of him, the said John EDGOOSE. (NB This date is at variance with John EDGOOSE's date of burial). (SGS 3 1708-1717 folio 15) In his will made on 30 March 1715 John EDGOOSE of Pinchbeck, yeoman, refers to his grandson John EDGOOSE and appoints Mr. Edward DALE and Mr. Squire HUDSON his guardians.
