Note: MARY EDGOOSE 1681-1705 Mary, daughter of John and Joan EDGOOSE, was baptised at Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, on 17 June 1681. John EDGOOSE had married Joan CRUNKHORNE at Pinchbeck on 18 November 1669. Mary EDGOOSE married John BETTS at Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, on 26 August 1703. John, son of John and Mary BETTS, was baptised at Pinchbeck on 3 January 1704/05 and buried there on 11 March the same year. Mary, wife of JOHN BETTS husbandman, was buried at Pinchbeck on 16 January 1704/05. Apprenticeship Indenture dated 1704: William SLATER apprenticed to John BETTS of Pinchbeck. (Pinchbeck parish 13/AP/17) A John BETTS married Elizabeth PECK at Pinchbeck on 4 September 1705 (Phillimore has Elizabeth PEET of Quadring). Elizabeth, daughter of John and Elizabeth BETTS, was baptised at Pinchbeck on 13 August 1706 and buried there on 22 August 1706. Elizabeth, wife of John BETTS yeoman, was buried at Pinchbeck on 13 August 1706. John BETTS, yeoman, was buried at Pinchbeck on 18 January 1706/07. In his will made on 15 January 1706/07 and proved on 15 August 1726 John BETTS of Pinchbeck, yeoman, bequeaths all his freehold and copyhold land in Pinchbeck to his father-in-law John EDGOOSE of Pinchbeck: "In the Name of God Amen: I John BETTS of Pinchbeck in the Countye of Lincolne yeoman being not well in Bodyly health Butt of Good and perfect memory prase br Given unto God for ye same And knowing the uncertainetyes of this Mortall Life And being Minded to Settle my worldly affaires Doe Make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner and forme ffollowing, And first & princeypally I Humble Recomend My Soule unto Almightye God who Gave it Me and My Body I bequeath unto ye Earth from whence it was taken Hopeing and trusting that Both Soule and Body Shall be Made partakers of A Gloryous Riserrection through Jesus Christe My onely Mediator and Redeemer, And as for my Worldly goods and Such Blessings as it hath please God to bestow upon me I will Give & bequeath in Manner and forme ffollowing: Imprimis I will and Give unto my Brother in Law James GRAYHAM the Sum of forty pounds of Lawful English Money to be paid unto him within Sic Months Next after My decease by My Executor hereafter Named, Item I Will and Give unto William SPINKS of Pinchbeck aforesaid the Sum of Twentye pounds of Lawfull English Money to be paid him within Six onths by my Executor hereafter Named Item: I Will and Give unto My Loveing father in Law John EDGOOSE of Pinchbeck aforesaid All the Rest of my Goods Chattells not allready Given and all my Lands & teneyments both freehold & Coppihold Lying & being in Pinchbeck aforesaid to him and his heires for Ever and doe Make him full and sole Executor of this my Last Will & Testament Revoakeing all former wills heretofore by Me Made he paying all my debts and these My Leagaceyes and bringing My Body to Christian & decent buryall In wittnes Whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seale this fifteenth day of January in the fourth yeare of ye Raigne of our Moste Gratious Soveraigne Lady Queene Ann over England (& c) and In ye yeare of our Christe 1706 Signed Sealed and Acknowledged John BETTS (his marke) to be the Last Will and testament of the within named John BETTS In presence of Adam SHARPE John PRESLAND his marke Humphery MARSTON" (LCC Wills 1726/22) (revised 17 January 2017)
