Lincoln Consistory Court Will 1669/79 Adler EDGOOSE married Ann BIRD at Pinchbeck on 16 January 1670/71. (PR) Adler EDGOOSE is listed in "The Names of all Such Persons as did in the Towne of Pinchbecke in Holland Lincolnshire Contribute toward the Redemption of the poore Christian Slaves 1670". He contributed one shilling, whereas Rachell EDGOOSE gave 4d., John EDGOOSE 4d., Joseph EDGOOSE 6d., Margarett EDGOOSE 4d., and Wid. EDGOOSE 6d.. (LRO 17 08 002 04A) In 1671 Adler EDGOOSE was appointed executor of the will of John BURD of Pinchbeck, father of his wife Ann. John EDGOOSE signed as a witness. (LCC Wills 1671/ii/491) He is not listed in the Hearth Tax returns in 1663 (PRO E.179 140 805) and 1665-6 (PRO E.179 140 754), but in 1672 he had two hearths in Pinchbeck and another in Pinchbeck "for a year". (PRO E.179 140 791) (left blank), son of Adler & Ann EDGOOSE, was buried at Pinchbeck on 10 September 1671 (No trace of a baptism in Pinchbeck register between January 1670/71 and November 1671). Rachel, daughter of Adlard and Ann EDGOOSE, was baptised at Pinchbeck on 15 November 1672. Nicholas CHAMBERLAINE and Alard EDGOOSE were presented at the manor court held on 13 October 1675 "for exactly the same" i.e. for digging across the highway next to their common land and each fined one shilling. (Spalding cum Membris Court Rolls PRO SC2 187/22 1 verso) Robert, son of Adlard and Ann EDGOOSE, was baptised at Pinchbeck on 21 December 1675 and buried there on 10 May 1676. Adlard EDGOOSE is listed in "The Names of such Inhabitants in the Parish of Pinchbecke as did Contribute Towards the Rebuilding of the Cathedral Church of St. Pauls in the City of London Together with the severall Sums following by them Respectively Given in the Month of March 1678" (i.e. 1679). He contributed 2d., John EDGOOSE contributed 6d., and Joseph EDGOOSE 4d.. (LRO 17 08 002 04A) Ann, daughter of Adlard and Ann EDGOOSE, was baptised at Pinchbeck on 13 October 1678 and buried there on 17 December 1680. Ann, wife of Adlard EDGOOSE husbandman, was buried at Pinchbeck on 4 November 1679 [sic] He contributed 4d. to the collection for the Redemption of Poor Christian Slaves held at Pinchbeck in 1680. John EDGOOSE contributed 6d., Joseph EDGOOSE 4d., and Wid. EDGOOSE 4d.. (Pinchbeck Parish Register 17 08 001 04A) Adler EDGOOSE witnessed the will of Thomas HARRISON of Pinchbeck which was proved at Boston on 14 October 1681. (Spalding cum Membris Court Rolls PRO SC2 187/29 6 verso) Thomas, son of Adlard and Ann EDGOOSE, was baptised at Pinchbeck on 8 April 1682 and buried there on 18 January 1684/85. Alice, daughter of Adlard EDGOOSE (Adler according to original register), was buried at Pinchbeck on 21 December 1684. Alice, daughter of Adlard and Ann EDGOOSE, was baptised at Pinchbeck on 13 November 1685. Alice, daughter of Adler EDGOOSE deceased, was buried at Pinchbeck on 27 September 1699 (The original register refers simply to the burial of Alice EDGOOSE, spinster). In Pinchbeck parish register there is a memorandum dated 11 March 1687 "that the Morgage of Tho SLATER for ye Securyty of the £20 Given Mr Tho HOULDEN was this day put into the Towne Chest by Adlor EDGOOSE and Robt ROWSTON ye prsent Churchwardens". (LRO 17 08 001 04A) John, son of Adlard and Ann EDGOOSE, was baptised at Pinchbeck on 18 March 1687. On 2 May 1688 Adlard EDGOOSE was a churchwarden at Pinchbeck. (LRO Ch. P./L. f.6) Adler EDGOOSE signed the register as churchwarden on 30 May 1688. (LRO 17 08 002 04A) Another son named THOMAS appears to have been born before 1692. He died in 1720 leaving a will. Adlar (sic) EDGOOSE, husbandman, was buried at Pinchbeck on 6 June 1692. An inventory of his goods and chattels was made on 8 June 1692 by Richd GILL, Edward MOORE, John EDGOOSE, and Robert BROUNE.
