Note: THOMAS BARBER 16??-1662 A Thomas, son of Thomas BARBER of Tydd, Lincolnshire, was baptisd at Tydd St. Mary, Lincolnshire, on 1 March 1614/15. (FamilySearch) A Thomas, son of Thomas BARBER, was baptised at Gedney Hill, Lincolnshire, on 16 September 1625. He is perhaps too young to be the Thomas BARBER who married Jane, widow of Robert MADDISON, at Gedney on 17 June 1640. (FamilySearch) Thomas BARBER married Jane MADDISON at Gedney, Lincolnshire, on 17 June 1640. Robert MADDISON, husband of Jane, had been buried at Gedney on 16 June 1639. The 1641 Protestation Returns for Gedney list a Thomas BARBER. Philip, son of Thomas and Jane BARBER, was baptised at Gedney on 1 January 1641/42. He is not mentioned in his father's will. Jane BARBER was buried at Gedney on 17 May 1646. It is not known when or where Thomas re-married but a Mary, wife of Thomas BARBER, was buried at Gedney on 13 April 1650. Rebeica (sic), the daughter of Thomas BARBER, was buried at Gedney on 4 September 1656. Jane, daughter of Thomas BARBER and Ellinge his wife, was baptised at Gedney, Lincolnshire, on 21 March 1657/58 and buried there on 21 September 1658. (PR) Thomas, son of Thomas BARBER and Ellinor his wife, was baptised at Gedney on 12 October 1661. (PR) Thomas BARBER was buried at Gedney on 14 April 1662 and his will was proved at Lincoln on 22 July. The Will of Thomas BARBER: "In dei nomine Amen The Twelfth day of aprill one Thousand five (sic?) hundred Sixtie and Two I Thomas BARBOUR of Gedney in the Countye of Lincolne husbandman being of p(er)fect memory (praised be God for it) doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following first I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almightye God my Creator Trusting assuredly through the merites & Passion of Jesus Christ my Saviour to have such pardon & forgivenesse of all my sines and my body I comitt to the earth decently to be buryed in the Parish Church yard of Gedney aforesaid: Ite(m) I give unto Thomas MADDISON the sonne of Robert MADDISON an ewe lambe to be deliv(e)red by my Executrix hereafter named at St. Michael next: Ite(m) I give unto Thomas MADDISON the sonne of Thomas MADDISON an ewe lambe to be deliv(e)red him at St. Michaell next: Ite(m) I give unto Thomas BARBOUR my sonne Ten pounds of lawfull money to be paid him by my Executrix here after named w(hi)ch he shall attaine to the age of one and twentie yeares: Ite(m) I give unto Sarah BARBOUR my daughter tenne pounds of lawfull money to be paid her by my Executrix when shee shall attaine to the age of Eighteene yeares. CALDRON and Alis, was baptised at Gedney, Lincolnshire, on 9 January 1613/14. (PR) A Willm CALDRON married Elizabeth BARKER widow at Lincoln on 15 January 1664/65. (FamilySearch) The identity of William CALDRON, son in law of Thomas BARBER, is unknown, but a William CAULDRON was buried at Gedney on 26 January 1666/67 (Guiliemus CAULDRON sepultus fuit Jan 26).
